We repost here the solidarity appeal sent by the Diligenta (A tata company) trade union in Britain, who are actively striking against the anti-worker policies of the Tatas<\/strong>. We appeal workers from Tatas and TCS to support the striking workers of Diligenta. From India to the UK, the working class have one struggle ! <\/strong><\/p>\n

Subject: Stand with Diligenta Workers \u2013 Solidarity Call<\/p>\n

Dear Branch Secretary, Activist and Supporter,<\/p>\n

Unite members at Diligenta are taking a stand for fair pay and respect at work. After years of below-inflation pay rises and growing workloads, the company has refused to offer a deal that keeps pace with the cost of living. Profits and executive pay have soared, yet staff, the people who make that success possible, have been left behind.<\/p>\n

Months of talks have gone nowhere. Diligenta have stalled, undermined the union and refused to negotiate seriously. Our strike ballot closed on Wednesday 15th October, showing overwhelming support for action across all five sites. Members are united, determined, and ready to win a fair deal.<\/p>\n

The background
Unite\u2019s claim, submitted in January 2025, called for:<\/p>\n

  • A 7% pay rise to match inflation and recover lost ground.<\/li>\n
  • A pay increase for all staff.<\/li>\n
  • Fair and transparent pay banding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Diligenta claimed financial hardship while paying \u00a314 million to parent company TCS in March, \u00a32 million more than last year. Their current \u00a37 million pay pot doesn\u2019t even match inflation. Since 2020, workers have lost around 15% of their income in real terms. The money is there; they\u2019re choosing not to share it.
    Our members have done their bit, keeping the business running through tough times. They deserve better, and they\u2019re not standing alone. We\u2019re asking every branch and activist to show practical solidarity.<\/p>\n
