The threat of nuclear war is something we often hear about as belonging in the past, to the age of the cold war. The Cuban missile crisis is often brought up as the moment when the world could have ended in a massive nuclear hellfire. This is a very American centric view of history, the reality is that here in South Asia, we never stopped living under the nuclear umbrella. This May of 2025, we were once again reminded of the looming threat of nuclear war, as India and Pakistan very nearly went to war.
